About the Author:
Gordon M. Haliburton was born in Nova Scotia and trained as a teacher before going to work in Sierra Leone in 1957. He taught in a government secondary school for boys at Magburaka in the Northern Province. He also represented the London Missionary Society as an Associate. Since serving there, he has undertaken further studies and taught African History for many years in Southern Africa. While there he co-authored a history textbook for Junior High School students, and wrote and published academic works. Since retiring to Wolfville, NS, he has researched and published in the field of local and family history.
