When Charlotte met Albert, the handsome Lufthansa pilot, she was sure their lives together would be nothing but bliss and happiness. Little did she know what was in store for her and her family.
It was the 1930s and the clouds of war were gathering all around them. Albert, by now a Major in the Luftwaffe had been deployed to Hitler’s private fleet of planes.
When WWII broke out Charlotte and Albert’s world fell apart. They would endure long separations, the losses of children, their home and eventually their country.
This is a family story of epic proportions, a thrilling page turner with incredible twists and turns of fate and destinies; heartbreaking as well as hilariously funny at times.
Will Albert and Charlotte survive? Will their love for each other be strong enough?
And who is Iron Annie? Be surprised, it is not who you think.
Immerse yourself in a true story of an ordinary German family caught up in the horrors of war.

About the Author:
Lisa Hutchison was born in Berlin, Germany during WWII. When one year old her family was displaced during a bombing raid and thus began a very long journey for many years for all of them.
Eventually her parents decided to immigrate to Canada to give their children a better life. She was twelve years old when the family settled in Toronto.
Having earned her B.Comm she worked in different areas in finance, insurance and banking as well as in several hospitals. In 1971 she married her first husband, a Hungarian professional trumpet player, whose sudden death in 1980 prompted her to write her first published book, Pieces of Us.
As time passed, Lisa met her future husband Robert, a clergy, and they were married in 1985.
They have three children, six grandchildren and live a wonderful life in Stratford, Ontario. Both enjoy travelling and spend many weeks each year in Portugal.
It was on one of those vacations that the story of the extraordinary lives of her parents took root and Iron Annie and a Long Journey was born.
