The Amazing Story Behind the Famous Ballad from the Seventies

Written by young Canadian policeman Dave Richardson, and produced by David Foster, “Wildflower” became a smash hit around the world. This is the true saga of love and courage that took place behind the song. It includes many other poems and lyrics composed by Dave over the course of his long career.

"A policeman working undercover among hardened criminals and managing to look just as tough;
A poet authoring classic lyrics for a world-famous love song; A counselor who uplifts the fallen only to lower them into the arms of their Saviour:"That's my brother!"

—Don Richardson,
author of Peace Child

"'The pen was his gun–not his police holster–and he was a deadly shot.' These beautiful lyrics pouring out of him–it was almost like they came through him, not from him."

—David Foster,
Canadian musician and composer
